Alastair Watt

European Managing Director & General Counsel, CIGNA International

Alastair was appointed European Managing Director in December 2009 and is responsible for the European companies: CIGNA Life Insurance Company Europe and CIGNA Europe Insurance Company, as well as managing legal support to the European businesses. In addition to these roles, Alastair is also head of the compliance team for the European Division of CIGNA International.

Prior to joining CIGNA in 1996, Alastair's career was in private practice where he specialised in company law, insurance contract litigation and insurance reparation.

Alastair has a Bachelor of Law Degree (LL.B) from Edinburgh University, a Diploma of Legal Practice (Dip L.P.) from Edinburgh University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Strathclyde Graduate Business School. He is also a Notary Public.
