Sheldon Kenton was appointed in May 2007 to the position of Managing Director. In this role he has management responsibility for CIGNA INTERNATIONAL's Expatriate Benefits business throughout Europe and the Middle East. He is a member of the European Management Team as well as the Global Healthcare Benefits Leadership Team.
Sheldon joined CIGNA in 1997 and has held a number of sales management, client management and business development roles. In 2003 he was appointed Head of Sales and Client Management and was specifically charged with growing the business in certain key markets by expanding sales and client management operations on the ground.
During his tenure, the sales footprint of the business expanded to 8 Countries. Most recently he was responsible for developing the company's proposition in the Middle East, culminating in a sales office opening in Dubai in early 2006. This expansion has seen revenues grow in excess of 30% per annum on average and the company has demonstrated superior client retention rates as the client management team has expanded to support the business.
Prior to joining CIGNA, Sheldon held a number of roles in financial services but with a focus on the management and placement of international risk.
Sheldon completed post- graduate studies at the University of Kent from where he holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA). He lives in Sussex and is married with two children.
